Fiona Stanley Hospital – Full Outsourcing

The development and commissioning of Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) in October of 2014 provided a unique opportunity to solve the issue of lengthy delays in the transcription of outpatient correspondence.  FSH has one of Western Australia’s largest and busiest outpatient departments seeing more than 200,000 patients per year across multiple disciplines and specialties.  FSH is also the first public health site in WA to go paper-light by utilising BOSSnet as a digital medical record (DMR) solution.  BOSSnet’s capability to integrate with various medical equipment and software also added a unique and exciting layer to providing information and patient outcomes to clinicians without the need for a cumbersome paper record.

Rockingham Hospital – Co-sourcing

The Rockingham Peel Group (RkPG) is comprised of two main campuses being Rockingham General Hospital (RGH) and Murray District Hospital (MDH) as well as community and mental health services across Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana.

The outpatient departments across the group generate approximately 2,200 letters per month throughout the year. As with all public hospital RkPG is under constant budgetary restrains resulting in recruitment restrictions and limited funds for software upgrades and licenses. The group was using the Phillips software – Speech Exec. to manage and transcribe their audio files. This product has limited reporting capabilities, inefficiencies, ongoing licensing restrictions and the software itself was no longer being updated and maintained by the group.
